I decided to start using a blog since it is well suited to the material that I want to present. The original GUI Gumdrops covered some topics related to Visual Basic programming. I’ve since moved on to Adobe Flex 3. There are so many helpful resources out on the Web that I thought I should add my voice as well.
This blog will contain my thoughts on user interface design in general as well as any Flex code that can be shared without restrictions.

My full name is Stuart Greenberg. If you do a Google search on me, let me say that I am not the horse expert nor the accountant. I am the Stuart Greenberg who worked for PC Magazine and VB Tech Journal, wrote the programs Scriptware and FamilyKeys, and co-authored VB 4 How-To.
I've been programming professionally since 1976, long before anyone ever worried about GUIs. I saw computing move from punch cards to IBM 3270 type terminals to home built personal computers with teletypes to TRS-80s to IBM PCs running DOS and eventually Windows. I learned some valuable lessons in user interface design in the last 30 odd years and applied what I learned to Scriptware, Family Keys and other programs I've written. It is my hope that I can share some of this experience here.
